The book is set up as a script including an ongoing conversation with the characters o,u,n,m,w and ∞ which are aware of their presence in the room as sculptures. They are talking about different topics like time, space, relationships, working conditions and try also to define themselves as living beings. Their conversation gets interrupted by other artists-text and they react differently to this new input. Their conversation ends with a uncertain but still hopeful note that everything will fall in its place somehow and they go for a beer.
u: I wonder what actually connects words and things?
m: The in-between, the magic
u: But I just can’t hold it. I can’t grasp it.
m: That’s the notion of the in-between. The space and time between two things. It stretches and shrinks at the same time. It is this unsecure place where anything can happen. So maybe it is not really lies we are talking about. More like opportunities or proposals.
w: We should hold on that term “proposal”. I think it has a lot to do with playing. It is like playing tag. Offering and taking away. Being the master of none and everyone Maybe that is what you were talking about, o?
