I stared at donkeys so much, they said please stop
Digital collage (fine art print), aluminium frame, adhesive letters 50x60 cm, on mural (dimensions variable)
With “I stared at donkeys so much, they said please stop”, the artist recounts her encounter with the persistently gentle V(ictory) of the donkey's ears. In terms of cultural history, the donkey is an animal of attributed contradictions. In its evolutionary reflex of standing still, however, she sees a movement of passive resistance that she has grown fond of, an 'I'd rather not'. In “stop carrying (tent)”, this very action finds space in the structure of a tent. This proves to be a temporary home, a bed and a place to try out the tactic of idleness.
